It's not a Montgomery Wards or anything else, it's a J. Stevens Arms Company, a takedown with the double hump reciever, suicide slide safety in front of the trigger and full 30 inch barrel. Hello, I recently acquired via auction a Stevens model 620A in 12 ga. with a serial # 32274. It has a bare left side receiver (no Stevens name or address and no model 620 stamped) and the left side barrel is stamped in 2 blocks.... "proof tested 12 gauge 2 3/4 chamber" and in 2 sizes of font "Stevens j. stevens arms company chicopee falls, mass usa" The folks & forums that collect the US Military Trench Shotguns would probably have info on this as well as some serial number range for at least the War time manufactured guns. May 31, 2010 · The 520-30 was a military gun. It's was a different animal. This one is a straight 520, and predates WWI. The J. Stevens Arms and Tool Co. changed names in 1920.
