If you like running but can't stand swimming and biking, maybe head over to r/running and work on you half marathon. My last thought is this. I started triathlon last year and in my first race, I came in 11th out of 12 in my age group in a sprint. It sucked. This year, I qualified for nationals at the olympic distance. The speed differential between somebody doing the breast stroke and even a slow freestyle is pretty huge. Obviously depends on who it is doing breaststroke but of course people in a triathlon doing it tend to be weaker, but surely this is more an argument for it being less of an issue because it means they are easy to get around. ….
