My 579’s have been good trucks despite these annoying traits.It's very likely that the ATR-6 valve under the front bumper is backfeeding through the system. This will cause the brake lights to stay on and will cause the cruise to not work. If this has a Paccar engine it can also cause low power and a check engine light. It has a minimal effect on a Cummins engine.
