For me, $100 a year is definitely worth it for the value I get from chess.com. I understand why people don't like it, but it's been by far the number 1 reason I've improved over the last 9 months. I think the new system is incredible and I'd pay $100 just for that feature.I've experienced the entire range between 900 and 2100 on Lichess and used to get substantially more toxicity. Now it's a very rare occurence. Yea but people lower rated (I'm 1300 chess.com and 1600 Lichess) don't really play IRL. Especially since the chess boom last year.

Lichess is completely free and always will be. That being said, the premium version of chess.com does have nice features like videos and lessons.
